The Commons at Calabasas

+ Project Info

The Commons at Calabasas, comprising approximately 200,000 sf GFA, is a regional retail entertainment center located adjacent to the city’s Civic Center. Featuring a cohesive theme of European inspired architecture, well-designed inviting and comfortable outdoor spaces together with a vibrant mix of retail and entertainment options the Commons has undeniably become an extraordinarily popular destination and Town Center for the Community. A winner of the Urban Land Institutes coveted “Award of Excellence” in 1999, the Commons includes a convenient full service grocery, multiple high quality restaurants, a nationally prominent drug and book store as well as an Edward’s Grand Palace 6 Cinema. Reflecting the vision and commitment of the developer and owner, Caruso Affiliated Holdings, the carefully orchestrated the extensive landscape development, including generous plantings of mature trees, colorful flowers, engaging water features, decorative paving, thematic lighting and well placed sculpture creates a unique and memorable brand identity and a sustainable competitive advantage. Mr. Bennitt was the principal designer for the comprehensive Landscape Concept Development and the entitlement phases of this project while he was a principal in another professional services firm.
