Hotel Bel Air

+ Project Info

Known throughout the world for its luxurious garden ambiance, this 12 acre property is nestled in Bel Air Estates’ secluded and charming Stone Canyon. Recognized as a legacy property, originally developed by Alphonzo Bell, it was operated by its second owner, the Joseph Brown Estate as a romantic, tranquil celebrity hideaway and urban oasis for over 3 decades. With the hotel and the grounds in a declining state, the property was eventually purchased by the Rosewood Hotel Group of Dallas, Texas. In collaboration with the Rosewood management team, Mr. Bennitt imaginatively and comprehensively restored and renovated the charm and elegance of the Bel Air’s famously intimate and beautiful gardens. Rosewood’s business plan included a northerly expansion of the property facilitated by their purchase of adjacent single family residential parcels. This expansion afforded us the opportunity for creating a seamless connection to the original grounds and gardens. The newly restored gardens and grounds recaptured the magic and dramatically re-positioned the property for renewed notoriety and economic success for The Rosewood Hotel Group. Later purchased by the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, the Hotel has recently undergone a two year renovation and is now operated as a premier property in the Dorchester Collection.
